Who is Verbum Dei? What is Built on Rock?

VERBUM DEI is an international Catholic community dedicated to prayer and Evangelisation through the ministry of the Word. Verbum Dei, which means Word of God, in Latin is a contemplative-active missionary community.  VDMF was founded by Father Jaime Bonet, in Spain, 1963 and received Pontifical approval on the 15th of April, 2000 as an Institute of Consecrated Life. 

In our full time dedication to prayer and  Evangelisation through the  ministry of the Word we offer guided silent retreats, reflection days, spiritual exercises and formation talks and seminars.   Our current premises are no longer suitable to respond to the demand of retreats. 

BUILT ON ROCK is our project to build a retreat and spirituality centre. It has the aim  to offer peoples of all walks of life a setting that will be conducive to a personal encounter with God through guided retreats given by the missionaries. The centre will provide accommodation and facilities for retreats to different groups who also  wish to avail of the centre for retreats.
