Coco Avant Chanel (Coco Before Chanel), starring French coquette Audrey Tautou, focuses on the Chanel label founder’s early years.
During this period, Chanel acquired her nickname Coco after a failed attempt at a singing career, and began her rise to ultimately become the queen of Paris fashion by freeing women from corsets and giving them instead the little black dress, round-neck jackets and quilted handbags, which have become hallmarks of Chanel style.
