The Joondalup Business Association in partnership with Community Vision is very happy to announce the 2nd event in the premier series of top quality presenters.

After the great success of the first series which was presented by Bernard Salt at a breakfast session the two organisations have again joined forces to present a lunch presentation which will feature John Symond.

John Symond, Founder and Executive Chairman of Aussie Home Loans, is widely credited for developing a whole new non-bank industry.

John is well known as a consumer champion; he was the first non banker to be inducted into the Banking and Finance Magazine Hall of Fame in 2004 and became a Member of the Order of Australia in 2002.

Voted as Australia’s Best Mortgage Broker in the Australian Banking & Finance Magazine Awards and Mortgage & Finance Association’s 2013 Excellence Awards.

Voted as one of the country’s ten most influential business, economic and political leaders over the last 60 years.

A supporter of the arts and philanthropy, John received the 2012 Australian Father of the Year award from the Shepherd Centre and in 2013 the Gold Harold Humanitarian Award, from Life Education for his ongoing philanthropic interest in children’s causes and charities.

John is Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Sydney Opera House and a member of the President’s Council for the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

“We are very fortunate to have secured John Symond as our platform speaker” said Russell Poliwka President JBA. “The JBA has taken a partnership approach to be able to attract high quality speakers. We are excited by the prospect of being able to again partner with Community Vision. “said Russell.

“The JBA is also very happy to have the involvement of City of Joondalup, West Coast Institute of Training and ECU” said Russell. “Not only is the JBA able to partner with Community Vision to present this event, we will have the support of the local council and the educational precinct.”

“With this second in the series we are focusing on “Entrepreur-ship” said Jenni Werner CEO Community Vision. “The value of being able to partnership cannot be overstated; it has allowed our two organizations to make use of a variety of skill sets. This event will give great insight into how entrepreurs work within communities and also how they give back to local communities “said Jenni.

John Symond will be our main platform speaker but we will also have a session presented by Hugh Wilkins. Professor Hugh Wilkins, Head, School of Business, Director Markets & Services Research Centre, Edith Cowan University. He’s speaking on “Social Entrepreneurship: The concepts and challenges for Perth’s Northern corridor.”

The Joondalup Business Association is expecting over 300 attendees eager to hear John Symond speak about “Success and Leadership” Said Clive Haddow CEO JBA. “This event signals that Joondalup can hold its own in the competitive conference and speakers market” said Clive.

“Last year’s event was certainly a milestone for the area of Joondalup and we are following it up with more great speakers with great subject matter to share with our local business community” said Clive.
