Gian Slater is a prolific composer, with eight albums of original music and has recorded and performed with many renowned Australian and International artists. Her approach incorporates wordless singing and improvisation, deeply personal and poetic original songs; electronics and extended vocal techniques; new music and contemporary composition and collaborations with theatre and dance practitioners. For the Sydney International Women’s Jazz Festival, Gian performs her music with two of her treasured friends; long-time collaborators and mentors, Barney McAll and Simon Barker.
