A historical lack of support for tech initiatives has led to more than 40,000 Australians leaving to pursue work in Silicon Valley, USA.

This loss of talent has resulted in the loss of much needed technological innovations and its accompanying revenue for Australian businesses.

In order to rectify this, Peter Dostis and team setup Runway Geelong which is a business accelerator program developed to provide support to start-up businesses in the tech sector. Support includes access to business facilities, funding, specialist mentors and a business development program.

From an original 37 applicants in this round, the 5 applicants who showed the most promise were selected to take part in the fully funded accelerator program.

As part of the selection process, applicants were asked “What customer’s problems does your business solve”.

Peter will discuss why not only knowing this but being also able to adapt your product or service to meeting this need is crucial. He will also show how we can identify this in your own business and what effect it can have on our ongoing business development.
