THE MOUNTAIN WITHIN, Film Premier & Book Launch

September 17th, 2011

The Mountain Within is an award winning feature length film, Directed by Kyle Portbury which chronicles the journey of 7 Disabled climbers and their attempt to summit Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.  At almost 20,000ft it is the highest free standing mountain in the world.  One mountain, seven amazing people, an incredible journey of the spirit.  With cinematography by 5 time Emmy Award winner Gordon Brown and an Original Score by BAFTA and EMMY Nominated composer Michael Price recorded in Studio 1 at Abbey Rd, this is a journey not to be missed.

All ticket proceeds go to support the work of the Wopila Charitable Foundation which provides small business grants to African women enabling them to not only make a difference personally but have an impact on their wider community.  There are a number of ticket options available. The event will begin at 6:30pm with the film screening at 7:30pm.

Prior to the screening, the films executive producer, Herta von Stiegel will launch THE MOUNTAIN WITHIN: Leadership Lessons and Inspiration for Your Climb to the Top (McGraw-Hill; July 28, 2011) a must have for anyone looking to develop their leadership potential.  

To celebrate the release of the book and Australian Premier of the film, Herta von Stiegel the books author, Kyle Portbury the films director and Morgan Roy support climber for disabled climber James Smith, invite you to a wonderful evening at the Dendy Opera Quays for the Sydney book launch and Australian Premiere screening of the film, THE MOUNTAIN WITHIN.

HERTA von STIEGEL is founder and CEO of Ariya Capital, a Gaborone and London based fund management firm focusing on sustainable investments in Africa.

An international executive with a consistent track record of building profitable structured finance businesses. She has held senior positions at Citibank and JP Morgan and, until 2005, was Managing Director at AIG Financial Products. A U.S. tax lawyer by training, Herta practiced law prior to becoming a banker specializing in international taxation and mergers and acquisitions. A popular and highly soughtafter speaker, she has been featured on CNBC, Fox, BBC, Bloomberg, SA FM (South African radio), BBC Radio 4, and in financial print media, including the Financial Times. She lives in London, England.

In July 2008, Herta led a group of disabled and non disabled people to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for charity.
