About the Celebration Day

A Celebration Day for Girls is a one-day workshop for 10-12 years old girls with their mother or female carer. This carefully crafted workshop was designed to support girls and mothers at this special threshold in both their lives, and to provide an affirming, grounded and connected celebration of the journey to womanhood.

At the Celebration Day girls enjoy lively discussion, fun craft activities, women’s stories and gentle celebration of the threshold of puberty and menarche.

During the Day the girls are warmly invited into the nurturing connection and support women have long shared with each other. Many participants report that their mother-daughter relationship is enriched and enlivened as mother's share stories of their younger years with their daughters

For the first part of the day the girls are dropped off on their own, and then the mothers join us at 1.00pm for a celebratory long table lunch (BYO), before staying for a beautiful afternoon of mother/daughter bonding.

The Mother's Session is on Thursday 11th of October from 7.30 to no later than 9.30pm at my home in Hampton (tea & nibbles provided).

Much of the role of provider of information, wisdom and guidance falls, naturally, to mothers. For this reason we meet on our own (mothers and myself) for a session before the Celebration Day. This is an important preparation for the Day and allows time for adult conversation and storytelling. During this session mothers also receive ideas and support for their unfolding mother-daughter relationship as they journey the adolescent years together. 

Please note that the cost of the Mother's only session is included in your Mother/Daughter ticket.
