How to get a standing ovation even when presenting the finance report

Guest Speaker: Mark McPherson

Ever sat through a presentation or even a 20-sec introduction and thought “That was pretty ordinary”? Ever heard someone speak and thought “What was the point he was trying to make?” Ever had to deliver a presentation but been unsure about what to say, when to say it, how to structure it, where to stand, what to do with your hands, where to move and when?

Well sit back and relax because in today’s interactive session you’ll be given plenty of ‘tricks of the trade’ that you’ll be able to immediately use; as soon as you walk out the door!

Your presentation skills matter. Whether you realise it or not, you spend your life presenting to customers, clients, bosses, staff and colleagues. And in your personal lives you present at social gatherings and even when laying down the law to your teenagers. You don’t want to waste your time – you want them to pay attention, understand and act. Today, you’ll learn how.

Mark is a professional speaker and presenter with over 35 years experience. He’s been a tourist guide, teacher, lecturer, senior education officer, manager, team leader, researcher and principal policy analyst. He’s worked in education, TAFE, health, police and universities and presented to a wide variety of audiences on a wide variety of topics both here and overseas. As a presentation skills coach, he’s helped people get standing ovations when delivering to audiences ranging from police to members of professional associations to shareholders at AGMs. He presently runs his own business “The Tough Conversations Guy”.
