Regional Homelessness and Housing Forum

Invitation

The Mid North Coast Regional Homelessness and Housing Working party invite Government, Non-Government and private agencies and services who have an interest in improving outcomes for people affected by homelessness and housing on the Mid North Coast of NSW to attend the Mid North Coast regional Homelessness and Housing Forum on 24 May 2012.

Funding

The Regional Homelessness and Housing forum is made possible through a grant received from the Homelessness Unit of Housing NSW, Mid North Coast Regional Council for Social Development’s ‘Resourcing and Development Project’ funded by the NSW Department of Family and Community Services: Community Services and the Samaritans.

The Mid North Coast Homelessness and Housing Working Party

The MNC Homelessness and Housing Working Party was convened in 2011 with over 30 representatives from across the Mid North Coast region and from a broad cross section of sectors. The Working party will continue to operate after the forum to further the actions generated from the forum and to continue to work together to improve outcomes for our Mid North Coast Communities.

Agenda

The forum agenda is jam packed with updates from Government partners on service system responses and directions, presentations form peak bodies, panel discussions and question times, presentations about innovative models of service delivery, and workshops to generate solutions to local homelessness and housing challenges. We are also fortunate to have a previous client of a homelessness service providing entertainment on the day.

Location and time

The forum will be held at the Westport Bowling Club, Buller Street Port Macquarie with registrations commencing at 8:15am for an 8:45am start time and finishing at 4.00pm.

Participants

This forum is for anyone who has an interest in improving outcomes for people who are affected by homelessness and housing challenges on the Mid North Coast of NSW. The forum is a great opportunity for all sectors and agencies/services from Government, non-government and private organisations to network, share information and collaborate. We anticipate up to 200 people will attend the forum.

Catering

All day coffee and tea, morning and afternoon tea and lunch will be provided. If you have special dietary requirements there will be a place in the ticket registration process to tell us. Otherwise, please email admin@mncrcsd.com.au

Registration, payment and cancellations

Registration for this event is via stickytickets with a small charge of $30.00 per head to cover costs.

Registrations are open till Monday 30^th April 2012. Our preferred payment method is credit card through the stickytickets process.  If you need to pay by an alternate method, please call (02 )6651 1788 and speak with the finance department. If you need to cancel your registration please let us know on (02) 6651 1788. Please note it will not be possible to refund monies for cancellations made after the 13^th April 2012.

Information Sharing

The forum will be a great opportunity to network and to share information about your services. There will be space made available for agencies and services to display promotional material. Please let us know via email at admin@mncrcsd.com.au if you would like to display promotional material on the day.

Pre forum survey

A pre-forum survey to inform the working party’s planning will be sent out to registered participants and other stakeholders across the region in the coming weeks. It would be great if you could help us to draw a regional picture of homelessness and housing challenges and strengths on the Mid North Coast by completing this survey.
