As ambassadors of Opportunity International Australia, UTS Event Management Students collaborate to put on an exclusive fashion event to raise funds to help release people from the cycle of poverty.

What is WOW - WALKONWATER?

This exclusive runway event will be a display of creative skills and talent and will be an event like no other. Designers such as Romance was Born, White Verve, Show Pony and Fleur Wood are sponsoring the runway items which will be auctioned off on the night. This will be a silent auction and after the pieces of clothing are showcased on the runway, the items will be up for bidding, with all funds going towards Opportunity International. The runway show will be complimented by live music, light canapés and a great atmosphere.

Who is Opportunity International Australia?

This non-profit organisation uses a business approach to solve the problem of poverty. Rather than a ‘hand-out’ they provide people living in poverty with a small loan (microfinance) to help them start or grow their own small business. These loans (and other non-financial services) allow the recipients to earn a regular income so they no longer have to struggle to afford the basics like food, clean water, shelter or education for their children.

Who are the hosts?

A group of 13 students who are currently completing their Event Management degree at UTS are undertaking a subject called “Creating Event Experiences”. As the major assessment, students are required to plan, execute and evaluate an event. All moneys profited from the event will be donated to Opportunity International Australia.

These limited and exclusive tickets provide you with access to the venue, light canapés, a VIP goody-bag and front row seating during the runway show.
