We are extremely happy to announce that the 11th Didgeridoo Bush Camp will be held on 21 - 23 May 2021. Didgeridoo Bush Camp is a Didgeridoo event for boys and men of all ages and levels.


INFORMATION

Just bring your camping gear (tent - caravan - camper - swag) We look after all the other stuff :-) The Didgeridoo workshops and live performances are done by legend and Didgeridoo Virtuoso Uncle Mark Atkins and Australian Roots multi-instrumental didgeridoo player Mago Menla. The weekend also includes the opportunity to make your own Didgeridoo.


ABOUT MARK ATKINS

Acknowledged as one of Australia’s finest Didgeridoo players, Mark Atkins is also recognised internationally for his collaborative projects with some of the world’s leading composers and musicians. A descendant of Western Australia’s Yamitji people, as well as of Irish/Australian heritage, Mark Atkins is known not only for his masterly playing, but also as a storyteller, composer, percussionist, visual artist and instrument maker. Through Mark’s lips the air blows as a natural desert sound, in old ethnic chants and in polyphonic melodies of astonishing rhythm


ABOUT MAGO MENLA

Mago Menla brings together ancient and contemporary sounds and electronic sound production in a dynamic way. It integrates this with breathwork, Meditation and more to journey deeply into oneself and connect deeply with the living world around us, ultimately these two are never separate. Mago is a Central Arnhem Land name for Didgeridoo, Arnhem Land and surroundings is the only true traditional origination of this deeply connecting instrument. It has been part of the Dreaming of the people up there for long long time, before it was played anywhere else.

Menla is the Tibetan word for medicine.


CULTURAL EDUCATION

Marlon Riley - Birrmba is an accomplished storyteller, song-man and dancer. During the weekend he will share his knowledge and stories about local history and meanings in cultural workshops.


MEALS AND SNACKS

Included in the ticket are all the beautiful vegetarian meals and snacks prepared and served by our beautiful Chef Mei Eng. Cooked on open fire and served in the Didge Dining Room with three course meals with creative desserts, freshly made breakfasts and mouth watering lunches.


MAKE YOUR OWN DIDGERIDOO WORKSHOP **

The weekend also includes the opportunity to make your own Didgeridoo. We will guide you through the process of making your own eucalyptus Didgeridoo to take home with you. The Didgeridoos we use during our workshops are authentic and naturally hollowed out by termites. No living trees or animals have been harmed or damaged in the process. We use quality Red Box and Yellow Box Eucalyptus logs for our workshops; they are seasoned and ready to be carved. Learn how to make your own didgeridoo that includes stripping – sanding – chiseling – painting - tuning and making a mouthpiece out of natural beeswax. All equipment, tools and safety wear are supplied.


WHAT ELSE IS INCLUDED?

Included in the tickets are the accommodation facilities on camping grounds – firewood – parking – security, all meals including water - tea and freshly brewed coffee. Stage & equipment hire - Didgeridoo workshops and performers fee.

Refund Policy

Refunds up to 14 days before the event, If Didgeridoo Festivals have to cancel an event, in which case refunds will be made in full to each ticket holder. 14 day before event is last day of cancellation. After the 14 day day deadline No refunds are done
