Join Knox City Council and Prevention United to build your knowledge, confidence and skills in mental health promotion practice
Mental health promotion aims to tackle the underlying root causes of mental ill-health by addressing risk and protective factors in the settings in which people are born, grow, learn, work, play and live.
Workshop one: An Introduction to Mental Health Promotion
Workshop one will cover:
- Mental health promotion vs mental healthcare
- Key concepts and definitions
- Why focus on wellbeing, prevention, and mental health literacy?
- What works in wellbeing and prevention?
- The current state of promotion and prevention in Australia
Who should attend: anyone working in health promotion, public health, mental healthcare or psychosocial support who wants to upskill in mental health promotion.
The workshop will take place in function rooms 3 & 4 and a light morning tea will be provided
This workshop is a Knox Mental Health Roundtable initiative
