A
bringing together of some of Australia's most renowned musicians and
dancers in a unique Australian project. The richness of the music and
dance found in the cultures of India and Spain have been widely
celebrated and cherished by audiences world wide. This has given rise to
the idea of THE INDIA FLAMENCO PROJECT. Featuring Aria award winner
Bobby Singh (Tabla), Damian Wright (Flamenco guitar), Shruti Ghosh
(Kathak dance) and Jessica Statham (Flamenco dance).
Exploring the
vast rhythmic and melodic possibilities, choreography, sentiments and
the essential nature innate in these cultures into a performance that
ignites the senses in a collaborative expression of the power of music
and dance.
"The instrumentalist (Bobby Singh) demonstrated in his
solo improvisation a transparent virtuosity and a vast and
inexhaustible capability of rhythmic variations. "
- Wetterauer Zeitung, Germany
"Damian
Wright is a brilliant flamenco guitarist...Wright showed what a
captivating solo player he is on his own "In Time", and elsewhere his
articulation of complex lines was fluid and dripping with conviction" -

elegance of her arm movements to the furious rhythmic precision of her
footwork" - SMH
