RBA training is to assist CDAT’s develop, evaluate and measure the effects of their programs and activities within the community. So bring along your latest project to work on! It is expected that each CDAT will have representation at this training to ensure that best outcome can be achieved with their funding dollars

What is Results Based Accountability™?

 RBA™ starts with ends and works backward, step by step, towards means. For communities, the ends are conditions of well-being for children, families and the community as a whole. For example: “Residents with good jobs,” “Children ready for school,” or “A safe and clean neighbourhood” or even more specific conditions such as “Public spaces without graffiti,” or “A place where neighbours know each other.” For programs, the ends are how customers are better off when the program works the way it should. For example: The percentage of people in the job training program who get and keep good paying jobs. RBA is a a disciplined way of thinking that can be used by communities to improve the lives of children, families and the community as a whole, RBA™ gets from talk to action quickly via the following;

  • using a simple, common sense process that everyone can understand;
  • helping groups to challenge the assumptions that block innovation;
  • building collaboration and consensus; and
  •  using data and transparency to ensure accountability

 Why would RBA™ assist your Community Drug Action Team and Organisation?

 Results Based Accountability™ supports organisations and agencies to use resources more effectively to ensure the work they do is making a difference to their clients and communities. RBA™:

 Creates measurable improvements for clients and communities

 Assists agencies to gather evidence during practice

 Enables agencies to fulfil the expectation from funding bodies to be using an outcomes framework in their work

 Louisa McKay from the Results Leadership Group will be facilitating this training. Louisa gave us an introduction to RBA at the Hunter New England Regional CDAT Meeting last October.
