This workshop accompanies the release of Australian Songbook and features examples from this great catalogue including the Bee Gees, The Easybeats, Rolf Harris, The Loved Ones, Country Radio & Russell Morris. A.J. is a great believer in finding good repertoire for the ukulele and in the process presents songs either not covered by other instructors or arranged in new and inventive ways. This workshop features interesting chord sequences and inversions as well as fine strumming techniques.

“Multi instrumentalist, arranger and recording artist A.J. Leonard is one of Australia’s pioneer ukulele players. Feted and respected in Hawaii, the spiritual home of the instrument, he is highly regarded to be among the best in the world. Together with classically trained cellist Jenny Rowlands, they have developed a rapport, becoming known for their ukulele/cello interplay. The simpatico they share is like that of the synapses of the same brain. A.J. Leonard has released eight albums since 2009 and together with Jenny Rowlands has performed and conducted workshops at major festivals and ukulele retreats across Australia and the USA.”
