Recognized as one of the leading individual voices in the new generation of the Jazz guitarists today, Mike Moreno has toured extensively and recorded his original music, described as being "as disciplined as poetry", to high critical acclaim. As Nate Chinen describes in his “The Gig” Column in JazzTimes Magazine, “There are many other guitarists out there pushing towards a modern ideal, but none with the precise coordinates that Mike Moreno has charted."

Outside of his own band, Moreno has been called to play for some of the most iconic names in jazz and beyond today, such as The Joshua Redman Elastic Band, Nicholas Payton Quartet, Meshell N’Degeocello, Lizz Wright, Jason Moran, Q-Tip, Terence Blanchard, Robert Glasper, Gretchen Parlato, Aaron Parks, Jon Cowherd, Claudia Acuna, Greg Osby, Wynton Marsalis & JALC, Jeff “Tain” Watts and many others.

Moreno's leader recordings include Between The Lines, which was chosen by Nate Chinen in the New York Times as one of Top 10 of 2007. Third Wish (2008) and First in Mind (2011) were recorded for the Dutch label Criss Cross Records. His most recent release Another Way on the World Culture Music label was chosen by itunes as one of their 25 "Best Of 2012" along side several Grammy winning recordings for that year. As a sideman Mike has recorded on over 40 albums, 3 of which were Grammy Nominated : Eldar - Re-Imagination, Q-Tip - The Renaissance, and Geoffrey Keezer - Aurea.
