8pm - The Fantastic Terrific Munkle

With two albums released on Jazzgroove Records, the Munkle are always right at home on the JG stage. A veritable 'super-group', the members' past and present musical adventures include playing with such diverse acts as Mike Nock, Mr. Bungle, The Vampires, Darth Vegas and The Tango Saloon. An incredibly unique ensemble that performs all too rarely, so don’t miss your chance!

9.30pm - New Mexico

New Mexico is a young and vibrant Perth/Sydney collaboration making its debut Sydney performance at JG. Fans of the great organ bands of Larry Young, Jimmy Smith and Bernstein/Goldings/Stewart will want to check out this exciting new collective performing a select choice of standards from the blue note era and original compositions from all the members.

What is Jazzgroove?

Jazzgroove is a not for profit organisation presenting high-quality original and improvised music from various jazz related cannons. Our focus is on musicians who are in the early stages of forming a national and international career. Jazzgroove's purpose is to nurture upcoming musicians by allowing a platform and performance opportunity to an established audience through our weekly Tuesday double bill events, marketing/ promotion support while also providing a dialogue and mentorship between past Jazzgroove performers and more experienced musicians.
