Event Details

In 2013 we celebrated COFFS HARBOUR’S FIRST Lantern Festival. This year Coffs Harbour Rotary Daybreak Club in conjunction with the Friends of the Botanic Gardens have created an event that will enable children to also experience the Lantern Festival which is reminiscent of Japan’s “TORO NAGASHI” FESTIVAL. This special event will be held on a Sunday evening . The setting is the North Coast BOTANIC GARDENS in the grounds of the JAPANESE WATERSIDE PAVILION to the light of the OCTOBER full moon.

FESTIVAL LANTERNS will be supplied for you to pen your OWN LUCKY WISH which will be lit and floated onto the LAKE.

Everyone receives their own traditional Bento Box containing a delicious JAPANESE STYLE PICNIC prepared by Mamagoto Catering. Lay your blanket, open your Bento Box and enjoy the floating lanterns lighting up the lake. .

As a special treat your name (or another’s) can be beautifully inscribed in TRADITIONAL Japanese calligraphy on rice paper for a small fee (this is a pre-order.)

NUMBERS ARE LIMITED and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
