President Roots are an alt-country, folk-rock outfit of smile-inducing consequence. Their debut album Migration, distributed by Vitamin Records, was released in June 2009. They have won several competitions including the PBS Festival of Song (2005), Tamworth’s Battle of the Bands (2008) and the ABC Songwriting Competition (2010). In 2010 President Roots released a 5 track EP, Shark Den Blues, with the track Gods Waiting Room hitting the number one spot for several weeks on Australian Community Radio.

With killer songs and cool grooves ‘The Roots’ made a big impression in 2012 with their second full length release Feelin’ Fooled which was one of the most played records on community radio that year. Since then Simon Dodd (singer/songwriter) has returned to live in the UK and has been recording new tracks with the legendary Peter Green. With a huge, coordinated global effort the band will release their third album Late Night Radio, quite probably their best work to date. In a bizarre twist, a friendly hobo has taken their songs on a busking tour of the East Coast. Now President Roots prepare themselves to roll out the new Late Night Radio album with gigs in Melbourne, Sydney and their spiritual homeland on the Mornington Peninsula.

Drawing from a whole world of inspiration, Conchillia creates a new sound, pulsing with vibrancy and vitality. Take a pinch of French cabaret and dress it in bright pop melodies, add the bittersweet mournful cry of trombone
beside the sunny smile of ukulele and vocal harmonies, underpin it with a samba beat, then a shuffle, then a proud march. It's unpredictable, delightful - a unique blend that comes from the sound of travelling, the influx of different cultures, rhythms, people and sounds.

Conchillia is the sum of diverse musical talent - Jes D'Cruz on vocals and ukulele, Miles Sly on drums, Kiah Gossner on bass and Aaron Deanshaw on trombone - striving for a fresh recipe rather than retracing familiar ground. Shimmering with creativity and luscious, tuneful appeal, Conchillia proudly presents something new for those old ears of yours.
