The Sydney World Music Chamber Orchestra celebrates Australia Day by showcasing the power and talent of multicultural Australia via their new work the ‘three sides of love and death’, performed for the first time at the Camelot Lounge.
There is no ensemble in the world that features such an array of cultures, faiths and talent!
The 11 piece orchestra travels from ancient Indigenous Australia to its multicultural present and features a string section led by Horse fiddle maestro Bukhu Ganburged; soaring vocals by Shohrat Tursun, Ghanaian rhythms, a Vietnamised Classical guitar, the breath of a harmonium and much more.
The Orchestra’s ‘three sides of love and death’ explores the universal themes of unconditional love and rites of passage through the stories and sacred music practices of culturally, linguistically and religiously diverse artists who make up the Orchestra and showcases the power of process, collaboration and diversity.
The Orchestra is a living example of the power of Sydney’s cultural and religious diversity.
