The Transylvaniacs officially formed in 1993 while on tour in Germany. The name (originally blurted out as a joke) represents the group’s focus on the more ancient styles of Hungarian dance music that exist still in Transylvania (or Erdély in Hungarian) which is now within Romanian borders. However, the group also plays music from regions that exist in present-day Hungary as well as traditional Romanian & Romani (gypsy) music.

Unfortunately Florin Codoba has cancelled his Australian tour will not be able to join us for this concert.

We all wish him well and will be sending the profits from tickets sales at this concert to him in Transylvania.
