With a long eclectic history in original Australian music, bassist and composer Valerios Calocerinos brings an impressive line up to his latest project IONIA. Inspired by stories of his ancestors, folklore and accounts of pirate attacks on the Ionian Island of Kythera, IONIA transcends traditional classification with elements of world, classical, gypsy and alternative, creating uniquely original music.

IONIA’S songs and music have been performed in Sydney, Melbourne, and Athens. Collectively the members of IONIA have extensive live experience in venues across Australia, New Zealand and Europe.
