"John Flanagan has a gentle gravity in his voice and words, the kind that makes you stop and listen" – Wally De Backer (gotye)
John Flanagan embarks on an epic National Single Launch Tour during Feb, March and April taking in VIC, SA, TAS, NSW, QLD & WA to celebrate the release of ‘The Last of the Cassette Men’ - the single he wrote after meeting the great singer/songwriter Paul Kelly. John recorded ‘The Last of the Cassette Men’ with Nashville based session musicians as part of the major prize package for winning the prestigious Gympie Music Muster Talent Search. John’s only Sydney show for the tour will be the single launch at Django bar with support from Direwolf.
Combining 70s folk singer/songwriter influences with Appalachian, claw-hammer banjo, John creates an Americana/folk sound that is both familiar and new. John has won over fans at major folk festivals around Australia and he has recently returned from Nashville where he has been working on his next record with producer Viktor Krauss, the brother of Alison Krauss and a world-class producer/bass player in his own right.
The Last of the Cassette Men (single) will be available through iTunes on February 5th 2015.

Drawing inspiration from artists such as Bon Iver, Ben Howard and Tallest Man on Earth ...24 year old Matt Dewar (aka “Direwolf”) is a stout product of the undiscovered indie/folk movement. “His name is true to his music, tragic and wolf like. Full of howls and a lingering sadness” – Sofar Sounds, Sydney
After dusting off some formidable gigs at some of Sydney’s best alternative and mainstream venues, Direwolf plans to tour the east coast of Australia on the back of his most recent release.
