In the tradition of The Rebetiko Ensemble and Les Eclectiques, Irene Vacondios and George Doukas along with an array of musical talents and Guests present MUSES of 20^th Century GREEK MUSIC & LAIKO. Even in the afterlife, the names Roza Eskenazi, Sofia Vembo, Sotiria Bellou, Poly Panou, Vicky Mosholiou, and Tzeni Vanou to name a few, serve as an inspiration to artists with a profound respect for the roots of the coined 'Laiko Tragoudi'. Irene and the band present Greek songs and Music which marked an ERA. Delving as far back as the Asia Minor Catastrophie of 1922 where popular songs of the region travelled with the refugees to Greece to inspire REBETIKO, and slowly transform, over the decades to LAIKO. Irene and the Band will explore popular favourites created by Tsitsanis, Papaioannou, Hiotis, Mpithikotsis, Zampetas, Hatzidakis & many more. This night will be a celebration of the unique voices of their MUSES! And yes there will be ample opportunity to DANCE!
