The Brisbane Improv Festival is excited to be hosting 22 Improvisation Workshops as part of the 2022 Festival with facilitators from all over Australia and New Zealand.

Death, improvised
Facilitated by Ali Little

If you're wearing a red shirt, if you're a cop retiring tomorrow or if you have a photo of your fiancé ready to share and it's the eve of a battle, this is the workshop for you. Some participants may be murdered in a most unlikely way, others will wilfully choose to eat one last wafer-thin mint. However it happens, we will die on stage.

By the end of this workshop participants will have
  • played some deathly improv games
  • learnt how to die safely
  • explored some handles for longer improv shows
  • played with some classic tropes in scene work
  • laughed at awful things and considered the darkest truths about mortality and doom.

About Ali

Ali has been performing and teaching and learning improv since forever, usually with the Wellington Improvisation Troupe. She dabbles in related arts, such as making and performing with masks and puppets, and photographing improvisors. Ali recently moved to the country and now lives with four alpacas and a labradoodle, who collectively inspire her with their ambitious daily comedy routines.

The Brisbane Improv Festival will be following all current COVID-19 safety guidelines and will also require all workshop participants to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for the wellbeing of all participants and facilitators - please note this is a extra requirement mandated by the Festival.
