"Excuse The French" is a selection of 10 classic French songs linked by small sections of drama - loosely based on fact. Performed by an eclectic group of musicians from the Sydney region, this show plays on the kitsch side of French culture while paying homage to some great music. The musicians in the show have played in just about every band in Australia (and a few in France) - including King Curly, the Lighthouse Keepers, Chris Cody Coalition, Tour de Funk, Red Ochre, Widdershins, the Gadflys, Van Park (the musical) and many, many more. Written by Greg Appel and brought to life a lively ensemble cast, this is a show that transcends the generations. It is about a Paris full of accordions, Eiffel towers and L’amour. Perhaps this is an imagined place, but it’s still somewhere worth going.
