Blackwood Festival of Music and Culture 2016

Blackwood Festival of Music and Culture 2016 is happening over the weekend of October 28th, 29th, 30th and 31st, 2016. The festival celebrates high quality music and aspects of traditional music culture  in a beautiful mountain forest setting at Blackwood, Victoria, an hour’s drive from Melbourne, 45 minutes from Ballarat and 30 minutes from Daylesford and Kyneton.  The main festival site is Blackwood Rec Reserve but festival events are also programmed at various venues around the township of Blackwood.

The festival features a great music lineup of local, Melbourne, interstate  and overseas acts in genres covering Irish, Bluegrass, Old-time, Country, Blues and Rockabilly. The program also includes workshops, open mics, sessions and kids activities. Acts include Haywood Billy Goats (USA), The Junes, Peter Daffy & Luke Plumb, Gleny Rae Virus and her Playboys, Ramblin Roses, Cat and Clint, Tequila Mockingbirds, Kenny Joe Blake and Lauren Lee Williams, Gob Iron String Band, Pete Daffy Trio, Honeyfields, Fingerbone, Archer, Blues Union, Ken McMaster, The Lairs, Mick Coates and the Allnightlongers, Alexander Andrew Parise, The Ramshackle Band, Shaun Brown, Shapenote singing with the Sacred Harp Singers, Cool Country Ukes, The Wikimen and Conundrum.. 

Onsite camping is available for a limited number of attendees. We also encourage attendees to stay at the Blackwood Mineral Springs Caravan Park. This especially applies to attendees who want a quieter environment, or who have a caravan, RV or other large vehicles as these will not be allowed into the festival site. There are other accommodation available in Blackwood, including B&Bs and private cottages.
