The Umbrellas
“Bravo Nino Rota”
Music from the films of Federico Fellini, composed by Nino Rota
Local sextet The Umbrellas began as a semi-classical chamber ensemble in the 1990s, becoming regulars at the old Strawberry Hills Hotel and the Harbourside Brasserie. They also presented their own shows with guest artists such as Sandy Evans and the Sydney String Quartet while releasing three critically acclaimed CDs.
In 2001 they recorded Bravo Nino Rota, a tribute to the celebrated composer of Italian film-maker Federico Fellini’s film music. Recently (2010), this recording was re-issued by the New York-based label Experience Vinyl.
The Umbrellas have a very strong line-up, a unique sound, a highly individual approach to their material and mark their debut at Camelot Lounge by performing Music from the films of Federico Fellini, composed by Nino Rota… Not to be missed!
