This is essentially a parenting & personal potential workshop
Have you felt that you want to access more potential in your role as a parent, and yet are exhausted by the reality of the day-to-day demands of your children? There is lots of advice about how to parent, and yet we do not often consider the child might know more than we do about what they need.
As parents, grandparents and caregivers, we are bombarded with theories, advice and programs on how to better parent. The lesser-touted advice is ‘know thyself’, and whilst Dr Maxine Therese has a knack for making this easy, her work is steeped in academic and practice-based research. How does knowing ourselves position us to care for children to all of our greatest potential, and is there a model we can easily understand to help us do that?
Dr Maxine Therese’s work is based on the principle that children already have all they need within them and are communicating this in important ways, through their behaviours and actions every day. In asking questions about why children act the way they do from the Foundational Needs Model (based on Chakra theory with an energetic understanding of the whole child in body, mind and spirit), we begin to form a very different picture of children, and also of our role as parents. In fact the way we relate with children begins to change. When parents learn about the invisible and energetic exchanges that occur between the child and their world (home, school and beyond) they begin to shift the way they relate with children. In assisting children to activate their potential as they traverse each age and stage of life, we also need to activate our own potential as adults. Children are literally our greatest teachers because they mirror back all of our unhealed wounds or unrealised potential from our own childhood. If we were limited or held back in our childhood it can be difficult to move beyond the inherently wounded perspectives and beliefs, which we then project onto our children. We require a new map of what children need if we are to assist children to know themselves as self-realised individuals.
The Foundational Needs Model touches on the theories most parenting books and programs are about, however it is in the synthesis and discernment of these theories that Maxine’s work comes to life. Whether you’ve been practicing attachment parenting, aware parenting, or subscribing to the respectful parenting teachings of Janet Lansbury, you will go a level deeper with Maxine, as she beautifully weaves in research-based psychology, family systems theory, philosophy, physiology, neuroscience and epigenetics.
This seminar supports an attunement with your child, which allows you to see that the many challenges of your child might be a refection of something you can become more aware of in yourself or in the child’s broader family patterning. The Foundational Needs Model is supported by years of research and clinical practice with many practical approaches by way of tools and tips that are shared during the day. You can begin immediately to cultivate your child's needs whilst also realising your potential as a parent.
