“Alister is a songwriter of the highest order and a sign that the future of Australian blues is in good hands.” - Lloyd Spiegel, Premier Endorsee Cole Clark Guitars.

It would be a generalisation to group 24 year old Alister Turrill with other young roots players. His playing style blends a true form of blues with complex song writing seldom seen in someone so young.

Alister won the 2011 Melbourne Youth in Blues award and as a result has been taking guidance from Australia’s most respected blues artists. He’s shared the stage with Jeff Lang, Geoff Achison and Lloyd Spiegel on several occasions and has supported the likes of Charlie Parr (US), Ash Grunwald, Kim Churchill, Steve Smyth, Tim Freedman and Shane Howard.

Following his award winning 2013 debut album 'Reverence & Reverence', and 2015 single release 'Road To The Grave' comes the brand new EP 'A Toast To Better Times'.

A stripped-back modern folk/country blues record where the quality of his songwriting is bared for all. On the back of this release, Alister will be playing his way up the East Coast of Australia for the first time. His first show at The Newsagency, Marrickville is on 27th November with support from Kieran Morris.

Honest, Flawed, Gravel-Throated Folkin' Blues awaits.
