Pranayama is one of the most powerful tools of yoga for health and well-being. 

This course provides an exploration of:

  • Key concepts of the practice of pranayama, including:

- Conscious breathing and breathing bio-mechanics

- Definitions and theoretical foundations of pranayama, including the Yoga


- Posture for pranayama

- Counting techniques

- Basic pranayama techniques

- Cautions and contraindications

- Complementary tools

• Basic pranayama techniques

• Other breathing techniques (cleansing practices):

- kapalabhati

- bhastrika

• Skills for teaching basic pranayama techniques

Pre-requisites: N/A

Dates: 4 consecutive afternoons starting Saturday 17th June - Tuesday 20th June

Time:  Saturday & Sunday 2:00pm - 5:00pm, Monday & Tuesday 12:30pm - 3:30pm

Cost: $360

Yoga teachers attending this course can earn 12 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points towards their Yoga Australia membership.
