Details

With most childhood summer holidays spent wandering between cane paddocks, meandering along the sandy shorelines in Tully and Mission Beach in Far North Queensland or having her head buried deeply within a book, Taryn has always been drawn to introspection. From those small country town holidays to travelling the world, Sydney became her home 5 years ago and it is here that singing and writing turned from having always been a way to process her experiences internally to performing them for intimate audiences on stage.

As her travelling has expanded her, so have those stories shaped her writing and no more than her debut album “Cycling”.

I crafted every idea with a purpose and idea behind it. This record is where I am as an artist and songwriter and I am very proud of this album and more confident with it than the first EP.”
Taryn La Fauci

The album is following the independent release of her EP UNVIEL, and will be filled with personally sensitive lyrics that are assured to leave a moving effect on listeners and critics alike. Funded through the crowd funding platform Pozible, CYCLING was beautifully crafted by producer Ryan K Brennan (Julia Jacklin, Elizabeth Hughes) and Andrew Edgeson (Matt Corby, Bloods) in Sydney’s 301 Studios.

To create the album, La Fauci ensured she was present for all studio sessions and instrumentation, playing all the featured guitars and writing all 10 tracks herself. Written through a time of disbelief, sadness and hope, her words carved space and light into the shadows of experiences no-one is free from meeting, even when you may not ready to face them.

“Last week Sydney based singer-songwriter Taryn La Fauci released the gorgeous new video for her single “Life of Song”. The track perfectly showcases La Fauci’s powerful lyrics and stripped back, acoustic accompaniment.”
TIMBER AND STEEL

““La Fauci’s voice is lilting and lush, particularly when paired with arrangements of strings, percussion and slide guitar.””
THE BRAG

“Taryn’s lyrics may at first seem rather personal and inward-looking, but closer attention will invariably yield the realisation that the situations and stances reflect the listener’s own experiences just as much.”
DAVID KIDMAN, FATEA UK

FEATURING SPECIAL GUEST

The launch will also feature special guest Gentle Leader who will open the night.

Being a new project, Gentle Leader allowed an opportunity to be brutally honest, transparent and raw. The forthcoming record delves into not only the ideas and ideals, but also the realities of both family, and mental health. Refreshingly personal, yet universal, the songs present a journey into the mind, both lyrically and sonically. The record is a beautiful chaos; played live it’s a stripped back whisper, weaving a tale of dirt, and of hope. You can’t help but feel something, anything, everything.
