U.S. born John Hoffman has toured and recorded with Buddy Rich, the Woody Herman Big Band and the Buddy de Franco/Glenn Miller Orchestra . He has performed with Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Sarah Vaughan, Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis Jnr., Harry James, Shirley Bassey, Ray Charles, and many others.

Living in Australia since 1977, John has led his own Big Band in Sydney and has performed and recorded with leading Australian artists.

John has been lecturing in Jazz Studies at Qld. Conservatorium Griffith University since 1995, and performs and teaches throughout Australia.

This will be a very special concert where his students will get to play with the master who opened their eyes and ears to jazz 20 years ago!

4x ARIA winning, 7 x platinum selling songstress and Queensland Music Festival Artistic Director Katie Noonan will be joining her ARIA award winning and National Jazz Award winning husband Zac Hurren in an intimate jazz tribute to their mentor John Hoffman, alongside two of his other students, the wonderful Dave Spicer and Helen Svoboda.
