Book you and your family in for our free basic bike maintenance course and learn how to take care of your bike, so it looks after you.

The bike maintenance course is a 2-hour demonstration workshop that will allow participants to learn how to undertake bike checks, make basic adjustments and learn a variety of maintenance skills. These maintenance skills include:

  • Taking off a wheel
  • Replacing an inner tube
  • Repairing a puncture
  • Cleaning a chain
  • Amending seat height and handlebars.

The course is designed so that the bike maintenance skills you learn can be utilised at Knox’s new public bike repair station at Marie Wallace Reserve. It’s a great opportunity to learn how to use the available tools at the new bike repair station in a fun, relaxing and engaging environment with family or friends.

Handout notes will be provided including maps and other useful tips.

Do I need to bring my bike or extra gear?
It is optional to bring your bike. There’s usually 5 – 10 minutes during the session for us to provide a brief bike check. However, most of the workshop will be demonstrated on the instructor’s own bike.

Please ensure that you wear comfortable clothes with a preference for closed toe shoes.

Who can participate?
The course is generally for adults (18+ year old). However, children who are 9 years and older can also attend the course if they are supervised and are attending with their parent/guardian.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No. We will have a list of names.

How many spaces are available?
Maximum 20 people per session. If this course has reached its maximum allowance, please check for alternative courses below.
