“Immediately engaging on so many levels… a narrative that embraces contemporary classical, European folk, and jazz” – Guy Strazz

Some of Two Parts 1

Five years in the making, Some of Two Parts is the exciting all-original duo improvisations of saxophonist Loretta Palmeiro with accomplished pianist and composer Mark Isaacs.

From a bedrock of jazz and contemporary classical music, they play with folkloric elements and qualities of the Iberian peninsula such as flamenco and fado.

Co-founder of the Spyglass Gypsies and director of Alma Orquestra, Loretta plays with Mara, the Divergence and Sydney Jazz Orchestras, the Australian Symphony Orchestra, and is a casual musician with the QSO.

Both Loretta and Mark’s musical studies originated in the classical hemisphere and have been coupled with an explorative passion for improvised music. Mark has been exploring the spirit of duende, the dark and soulful current that runs through the most animated music.

In meeting and playing spontaneous inventions with versatile saxophonist Loretta he found a like-minded soul and a spirited duo was born. The results can be passionate, furious, brash, delicate.
