Parkinson’s Queensland’s Newly Diagnosed Forumin Townsville, Friday 2nd March 2018, will highlight the interdisciplinary approach needed for the management of Parkinson’s. The Forum draws on the experience and qualifications of some of Australia’s Parkinson’s leaders. Delivering the most up to date information, research and advice for the newly diagnosed, their family, carers, friends, and health professionals. In addition, the Forum will feature the importance of Carers and having a support network.
The program is facilitated by Professor George Mellick, President of Parkinson’s Queensland and researcher at Griffith University Institute of Drug Discovery. Speakers include Ruth Coleman, Parkinson’s Queensland Board Member, Support Group Coordinator and a person with Parkinson’s; Karen O’Maley RN, Nurse Consultant, Movement Disorders, Neurosciences Queensland and Parkinson’s Queensland Vice President; Jenny Potter, Carer and wife of person with Parkinson’s; Paul Parker, Sports Med NQ; Ann Finnimore, Speech Pathology Team Leader, The Prince Charles Hospital; and local Neurologist and Nurse team Dr Richard White and Rachael White RN, Townsville Neurosciences.
