The Parent-Child Mother Goose program uses mutually enjoyable activities (songs, rhymes, finger plays and storytelling) to support attachment and interaction between parents (as well as carers, relatives and staff working with young children) and their infants and young children.
These positive relationships are critical for promoting children’s health, well-being and achievement outcomes throughout later life, and form a strong foundation for life.
The program also enables families to form new friendships and neighbourhood connections, and to obtain information about services in a highly supportive manner.
The Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS) recognises Parent-Child Mother Goose as an evidence-based program.
Training Workshops for Parent-Child Mother Goose facilitators are taught by accredited trainers.

Why two trainees are (often) better than one
Because every Parent-Child Mother Goose program is run by two trained facilitators, we would encourage organisations planning to establish a Parent-Child Mother Goose program to send two participants to a training workshop. At the same time, we certainly welcome most warmly other organisations planning to incorporate aspects of the Parent-Child Mother Goose philosophy and practices into their existing programs.
Workshop times
The workshop starts at 9.00 am and finishes at 4.00 pm on both days.
Lunch and light refreshments
Lunch and light refreshments are provided. Please advise of any special dietary requirements when booking.
Resources
At the conclusion of the workshop, you will receive at no additional cost a USB memory stick loaded with resources, including information booklets about how to start a program, how to run a program, useful forms, and a wealth of songs and rhymes.
In addition, the trainers will have a selection of Canadian P-CMG resources for sale, including CDs and song, rhyme and story books ranging in price from $16 to $33. You can pay for these by cash or cheque, or by making a direct funds transfer to our account from your smartphone. Please note that we do not have credit card facilities for processing these sales.
Cancellation Policy
If a training workshop is cancelled by P-CMGA (e.g., due to insufficient numbers or illness), participants will be offered a full refund or transfer to another workshop.
Parent-Child Mother Goose Australia will endeavour to inform participants of cancellations at least 48 hours prior to the workshop.
If a participant wishes to cancel their registration more than 7 days prior to commencement of a workshop, a $50 administration fee will apply.
Training workshop fees will not be refunded for cancellations within 7 days of the workshop commencement. Any request to cancel or change a registration must be sent to office@parentchildmothergooseaustralia.org.au.
