2018 Burning of the Barrel

The Burning of the Barrel has quickly turned into an icon event of the Hunter Valley Food & Wine Festival. It is an absolutely spectacular evening where, in a nutshell, we build a bloody enormous fire, drink some very tasty wines, dine on some fantastic food, listen to some great music and have quite possibly the best night of the year in the Hunter Valley!

In the past we have seen and tried just about everything and last years fireworks display was something to behold. This year, we are going bigger and better with the day starting earlier so you can enjoy the show in a relaxed environment. Andy from the The Cellar Restaurant will be on the pans again dishing up an awesome fireside menu for you to enjoy, we'll have some cracking wines on show and the team at KaBoom Fireworks have been planning something new.

This year promises to be an absolute cracking evening.

PLEASE NOTE CHILDREN UNDER 6 ARE FREE BUT WE ARE NOT PROVIDING ANY SUPERVISION FOR CHILDREN OF ANY AGE. CHILDREN ARE 100% THE RESPONSIBILITY OF PARENTS AND/OR GUARDIANS AT ALL TIMES. THERE WILL BE FIRE AND IT BURNS.

There is free parking available onsite should you be driving. However, there will be a bus service operating with set pick up and drop off times from around the Valley. You will need to contact the bus company directly to book your service. Contact Vineyard Shuttle on 4991 3655 to book. $20/person return trip.

(The event will proceed rain or shine. Only exceptionally severe weather conditions will affect the evening, so come prepared for the conditions on the day. If weather conditions are deemed dangerous for the fire to be lit or put patron’ safety is at risk, we may be forced to cancel the event. In these circumstances, no refunds will be issued.)
