BIG and the Burnie Chamber of Commerce and Industry invite you to join us for lunch with Professor Tim McCormack


Professor McCormack is the new Dean of the School of Law at the University of Tasmania and has significant expertise in International Humanitarian and International Criminal Law.

Tim grew up in Burnie, attending Burnie State School, Parklands High School and Hellyer College, graduating from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Laws - Honors in 1982 and a Ph.D from Monash University in 1990.

Tim was a Fulbright Senior Scholar (2015-16) and is Special Adviser on International Humanitarian Law to the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in The Hague since 2010.

Tim has taught international law across the world, including at the University of Melbourne, the University of Tasmania and Harvard Law School.

Tim has served in a number of roles internationally, including as advisor to the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia for the trial of Slobodan Miloševic and provided advice to Major Mori for the defence of David Hicks.

This is a great opportunity to hear first hand about Tim's unique experiences in the legal arena.
