Event Details

Professor Gillian Triggs will speak at Castlemaine’s Phee Broadway Theatre on Monday 18 June as part of Refugee Week 2018.

As the President of the Australian Human Rights Commission between 2012 and 2107, Professor Triggs came into public prominence with the release of the report The Forgotten Children: National Inquiry into Children in Immigration Detention.

Her current focus is the need for the development of an Australian Charter of Human Rights.

Professor Triggs, along with Julian Burnside QC, is a co-patron of Rural Australians for Refugees nationally.
