Fresh from their City Recital Hall debut in June, Sydney sextet Chaika are bringing their tunes to the cosy venue The Newsagency. Chaika's music is sensuous, cinematic and at times irresistibly danceable, showcasing a rich tapestry of spine-tingling vocal harmonies weaving seamlessly into instrumental dialogues, drawing influence from the Balkans and jazz.

Their music has been described as “deeply touching and meditative” as well as “exuberant, virtuosic and uplifting”. Individually their members have written for & performed with artists such as The Brandenburg Orchestra, Monsieur Camembert, Nahko and Medicine for the People, Mara! & the Martenitsa Choir, Riley Lee, The Rhythm Hunters and The Song Company.
