Event Details

The demand from owners to train their own assistance dog increases as the benefits of having an assistance dog becomes more widely recognised by the public. Many benefits of assistance dogs include their impact on the physical and psychological wellbeing of their owner, as well as their safety and social inclusion, ie. people with limited mobility, mental health disorders, illnesses, injuries, diseases and disorders that limit their ability to function normally.

Carmel “Fudge” Kaczmar is an approved Assistance Dog and Hearing Dog Trainer, holds a Cert IV in Companion Animal Services and is a full member of the Professional Pet Guild of Australia. She has conducted many seminars on dog training and working with assistance dogs and has appeared as an expert on Network 7’s RSPCA Animal Rescue

Fudge will be presenting the first of her Assistance Dog Training Workshops in Brisbane for dog owners, and those wanting to get their own dog, to train as an assistance dog.
