Octave Inc is the creation of saxophonist Michael Slater. An accomplished jazz saxophonist from Nashville, Tennessee, Slater’s sound has been described as a “sleazysaxophone ghost...taken straight from the Clarence Clemons songbook”(Mess+Noise). Most known for his work with Shining Bird, Ernest Ellis and studio project Rain King, Slater’s jazz quintet is the culmination of the variety of genres he has been part of.

The quintet can be described as a genre bending wall of sound, exploring various areas of music centering on jazz fusion and pop. The band brings a killer sound to the stage – it’s alive and enthralling music. Never sounding the same way twice, Octave Inc’s music is an organic, evolving soundscape in their live performances.

In 2016, the band released their first recorded EP titled ‘Dancer’. In early 2018,Octave Inc released their second EP, ‘Flightpath of the Sky Queen’. The band has wrapped on their first full length album, due out on 24th October, 2018.
