Greg has been a lawyer for most of his working life and has degrees in law and commerce and masters degrees in law and applied finance. For 12 years he worked in takeovers, capital raisings and restructures, acting for some of Australia's largest companies. He went to the Bar in 1992 and has been a junior to many leading Queens Counsel and Senior Counsel in all jurisdictions. Greg practices in banking and finance law, corporate and personal insolvency, corporations law, equity and trusts, property, wills and estate.
Prior to joining the Insolvency and Trustee Service Australia (ITSA), Andrew was a senior advisor in Treasury providing policy advice on corporations and financial services issues, and Secretary of the Ministerial Council for Corporations. Andrew is now the Principal Legal Officer on Personal Property Securities at ITSA, based in Canberra. He worked closely with teams from ITSA and the Attorney-General’s Department in preparing for the commencement of the Personal Property Securities Register. He now provides ongoing legal support to the Registrar and ITSA in operating the Register.
James qualified in the mid-90s and then practised as a lawyer in Sydney. In 2001 James moved to Vancouver, Canada, and re-qualified and then practised for 8 years, eventually becoming a partner of a national Canadian business law firm, acting for bank and non-bank lenders, including in the provision of advice on Canadian PPSA issues and registrations. In late 2009 James returned to Sydney, and now currently leads one of the transactional legal teams within Rabobank Australia.
