Is your writing letting down your business? It’s true- a lot of business writing is bad- excruciatingly so.

You know what else is true? Improving your writing is a skill, and I can teach it to you.

Writing is a skill that makes people money, and that’s where better business writing comes into it’s own. Build the writers toolkit that will help you clarify your business messages and get to the essence of what you do through smart, effective business writing.

I’ll teach you how to approach your business communications like a writer, and I’ll give you the tools to translate your key messages, points of difference and benefits into writing that reflects your business accurately, effectively and purposefully.

You’ll learn the techniques and strategies I’ve used for over twenty years to

  • Plan a writing project
  • Bang out the words quickly and efficiently
  • Edit and polish your work to reveal a fabulous piece of business writing that connects with your dream client.

What we’ll cover:

  • Punctuation and grammar with a contemporary application to your business
  • Tone of voice to nail connection and engagement with your words
  • Common business writing mistakes and how to correct them
  • The structure of good business writing

The agenda reflects the business writing pain points I address almost every day to transform projects into a piece of writing that works hard for businesses. As a group, we’ll brainstorm content ideas, we’ll burst through writers block and if you bring a piece of work that’s bothering you I may even get out my red pen and scribble across your copy to show you how to improve it so your messages hit their intended targets.

You’ll walk out of my workshop with the clarity, inspiration and motivation to get your business writing projects on track, with practical, actionable ideas and strategies to implement immediately, as well as longer term ideas for projects.

This workshop is perfect for people in business who:

  • Know that their written words used in their business aren’t working as hard as they should
  • Want to spend less time and much less angst crafting each piece of business writing, be it social media captions, sales pages, pitches or emails.
  • Who want to blog, but don’t feel confident with their writing ability
  • Love what they do, but need help to polish their message
  • Need someone with writerly eyes to take a squizz at their work and give some actionable feedback.

About your presenter:

Hi, I’m Holly Cardamone, communications specialist, writer for business, social media strategist and Word Nerd extraordinaire. My business is Blue51 Communications, and I help people tell their story and grow their biz using beautiful communications. For the past two decades, I’ve drafted hundreds of thousands of words for people in business. Whilst it’s in my Aussie-girl nature to be self-deprecating, I feel obliged to point out that I’m pretty damn good at what I do. I’m an unashamed and unabashed Word Nerd, with a Master of Writing and Literature and a Master of Arts in Communications to prove it. I use my love of language and my passion for communications to create strategies and tactics and products that weave creativity with professionalism.

Venue, Parking and Catering:
