Steve studied Jazz at Berklee College of Music and is a talented singer, songwriter and guitarist. Elysia studied Classical Music at the University of Western Australia. They've performed separately and together in a number of bands covering such diverse styles as folk, country, jazz, rock, funk, ska and reggae. Having different musical backgrounds, but similar musical tastes, Steve and Elysia decided to form an acoustic duo, not only to perform the jazz songs they love, but also to push themselves musically. Elysia performs songs in English, French and Portuguese with many songs featuring improvisation, whilst Steve accompanies her with simultaneous bass lines and comping.

Their influences include such classic artists as: Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Chet Baker and Joe Pass to more contemporary singers including Kurt Elling, Esperanza Spaulding and Melody Gardot. As well as standards, you'll hear some blues, bebop, original compositions and of course, a Bonnie Scott's gig wouldn't be complete without a few smooth Brazilian numbers thrown in for good measure.
