Marty is Technical Director of the NBA Global Academy and has worked in Professional Basketball as a player and coach.

Marty grew up in Penguin, attending Marist Regional College, beginning his career playing across the State for the Devonport Warriors in the Tasmanian State League (1984).

Marty was offered a scholarship at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), playing in the Australian under-19 Team at the 1987 FIBA Under-19 World Championship .

Marty joined the National Basketball Leagues’s North Melbourne Giants (1988 - 1992), playing 120 games.

Marty began his coaching career in the Tasmanian State League in 1997. Marty’s long career as a coach has included serving at the AIS as Assistant Coach (1998-2002) and Head Coach (2002-2010),Head Coach of the Adelaide 36ers and Assistant Coach with US College team St Mary’s.

During his coaching career, Clarke has worked closely with helping develop some of the top names in Australian basketball history, including Andrew Bogut, Patty Mills and Matthew Dellavedova
