Event Details

The birds and their habitats of Green Bluff Headland and South Moonee Forest have been studied for the past two years under a grant from the NSW Environmental Trust.

This morning will present the results of bird monitoring that was undertaken as part of that project, to see how the local birds utilise the existing and the repaired habitat.
Participants will visit some of the 15 sites surveyed for forest and wetland birds in 2017-2018. Over 1400 birds were recorded from more than 80 species by volunteers working with a local ornithologist. This area is one of the last remaining local mountains to sea wildlife corridors.

This is a great opportunity to learn more about the types of habitat preferred by our local birds.
