The Brisbane Improv Festival is excited to be hosting 22 Improvisation Workshops as part of the 2022 Festival with facilitators from all over Australia and New Zealand.

Once More with Feeling
Facilitated by Brenna Dixon

In this format, improvisers are empowered to follow their impulses to create bespoke musical theatre. Each show has a different structure, based on what is inspired by the title. Players will develop their commitment and support skills, getting comfortable with taking musical risks and jumping into scenes.

Please note that any Festival shows cast from workshops is at the discretion of the show's director and is not guaranteed. Please go into workshops with a view to learning new improv skills and having fun. Any performance opportunity is a bonus.

About Brenna

She has been teaching acting and improvisation since 2012, in Australia and overseas. Brenna has taught adults and children of all ages for companies including Impro Melbourne, Brave Studios, The Decent People, New Zealand Improv Festival and Monash University, just to name a few. Brenna teaches workshops on improvised Shakespeare, musicals, scene work and stage craft.

The Brisbane Improv Festival will be following all current COVID-19 safety guidelines and will also require all workshop participants to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for the wellbeing of all participants and facilitators - please note this is a extra requirement mandated by the Festival.
