THE GIRL IN THE MOON Dir: Althea Jones, 14 mins, Australia This dark musical tale is set in the urban jungle of a strip club. The inhabitants give into their primeval urges, luring the innocent into an intoxicating cocktail of money, sex and desperation. The Girl in the moon uses this context to explore concepts of innocence and lust for freedom. FLESH AND BLOOD Dir: Larry Silverman, 65 mins, USA EVERY ARTIST NEEDS A CANVAS. FOR STEVE HAWORTH, IT'S HUMAN FLESH. Flesh and Blood is the story of one of the most controversial practitioners in the world of radical body modification. Steve Haworth is the American underground artist and cult figure who spawned a global subculture fixated on his surgical artistry. Some of the world's most extreme looking people have spent time under Haworth's knife. "Flesh and Blood" is an unflinching glimpse into an intense, mysterious world Haworth helped to create, and the obsessed people who inhabit it. AWARDS We then present the awards for Best Film, Best International Film, Best Short, Best International Short, Best Male Actor and Best Female Actor. AFTER PARTY DETAILS The opening night after party will take place @ Duskbar a 3 min walk from the cinema @ 171 Fitzroy St. St. Kilda. DJ Kempy will entertain from 8:30pm
